New Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Therapy Clinic
The new clinic at our headquarters in Port au Prince provides physical therapy and medical services, houses training rooms for staff, examination rooms, a pharmacy and our administration offices. The two-storey facility, which replaces buildings destroyed in the January 12, 2010 earthquake, is wholly supported by funding provided by Direct Relief International (DRI), California, USA.
Healing Hands for Haiti has re-established full services through this temporary physical medicine and rehabilitation clinic that will serve Haitians with disabilities until construction of a new out-patient complex is completed at the end of 2011. An agreement to build and fund operations of the that new complex on original HHHI property was signed with the International Committee of the Red Cross, Special Fund for the Disabled, on November 15.
We are thankful to our partners and supporters and we welcome our clients and patients, staff and volunteers to Klinik Kay Kapab which marks HHHI’s recovery to full services for Haiti’s estimated 800,000 persons living with disabilities.
